Disney Legends named her one of the 2011 Disney Legends. Rose was in the role of Lorrell Robertson in Dreamgirls that won the Academy Award. Anika Rose was born on June 6 on the 6th of September, 1973. She is a famous American actress and singer. The most famous of her roles was her role as Tiana, the Disney Princess who is the first African American Princess in The Princess and the Frog (2009). Disney Legend was bestowed upon her in the year 2011. Her most well-known roles include performances as Lorrell in Dreamgirls which was an Academy Award winning film (2006) and LaVerne in Starz's Power. Also, she is known for her performance in the theatre, particularly for her starring roles as Emmie Thibodeaux in The Broadway performance of Caroline or Change (2004) in which she was awarded the Tony Award for Best Featured actress in a Musical.
