Aurora
Aurora Aksnes born 15th June 1996 Stavanger is an Norwegian musician and songwriter. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves, came out in May 2015 on Decca Records to great approval of music bloggers and the media. Half the World Away - by the Oasis to accompany John Lewis' Christmas ad and Nature Boy - by Nat King Cole - are already two notable covers that she has recorded. Katy Perry shared a tweet where Perry promoted her song Runaway. Enjoy her day. Aurora Aksnes' first musical moment was when she stumbled across a miniature piano in her basement and being fascinated at the sound it made. Jan Oystein Aksnes' parents May Britt Aksnes urged her to make music as a means of personal growth, rather than for the purpose of making a living or an interest. In order to do so she wrote her first original compositions. Bjork as well as Leonard Cohen are among her favorite songwriters. After her mother said that the songs she wrote were not meant to make her famous however, but to encourage people to see the importance of their work and influence on the world, she started playing them on stage. She was suggested by her mother to perform her songs publicly so that people can see their own importance and how they could impact the world. The family did not be aware of this until she was fourteen. Aurora did not have a set goal. The only thing she loves is writing music. She says that music is her most preferred way of feeling something.
